JOSIE

she was a very good puppy, and quiet. but not having owned a newfie before, i thought this must be the norm. as josie reached 3mths i was getting a bit concerned about her. so i took her to the vets, they gave tablets and medication, i did every thing the vet told me.after a lot of visits to the vets, (by now she was nearly 5mths, my vet decided to x ray her hips, the x ray showed what i understand to be gross congenital abnormality of the right hip and server hip dysplasia. i was told corrective surgery may be a possibility, but she would be in great pain untill she was old enough to have the surgery which could not be done untill she was 13mths old.a course of analgesics was commenced, but the situation deteriorated rapidly. so it ment that she was drugged up with pain killing drugs or trying to walk and cry with pain. i couldn't bare to watch her any longer and i made the heartbreaking decision have her put to sleep. this is apart of my life i will never forget.
